Blogging Basics

You are on your way to becoming a blogger! We’re going to use Edublogs as your blogging platform. This is a public blog and you will be sharing your blog address with your teacher, the school principal, your parents, your fellow students and other people in the educational community. All of these people might comment on your blog. You will receive credit for blog comments you make on other blogs plus when someone from outside of school makes comments on yours you’ll receive more credit! So spread the word among your family and friends.

1. Add your teachers to your blog

Mrs. Johnson is already an administrator on your blog, but you need to add your literacy teachers to your blog:

4. Write an Introductory Post

Write an introductory post. Your first post should tell your blog readers a little about yourself. You don't want to share your address and phone number, but you can certainly tell your readers about your hobbies, your life at school, and what you will be blogging about. Your post should include:
  • Your hobbies and interests
  • What you are currently reading
  • Your hero or favorite quote
  • Any questions that you would the reader of your post to answer.
